Hi, I’m Nishma.
A few years ago, I decided to leave my office life in Mexico City behind and choose something completely different. I wanted a life that made me feel excited just thinking about it. So, I decided to study Alternative Tourism and dedicate my life to exploring the world through something real: nature.
That decision brought me to La Paz, Baja California Sur. And my life changed.
Baja is one of those places that keeps surprising you. You can wake up wondering what the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez) will bring that day, step out of your tent and smell something completely different in the morning air, or look up to see pelicans flying overhead that seem more like dinosaurs than birds.

Out here, there is always something new to discover.
That’s what made me fall in love with exploring the wild. Getting excited by the unexpected. Watching a new movement in the water, spotting a pod of dolphins when you least expect it, walking a new trail, noticing a different scent when you step out of your tent in the morning, and realizing that the best moments are often the ones you never planned for.
And that’s where Baja Barefoot was born.
Because we believe that the best way to experience nature is to get closer to it.
There is a reason we chose the word Barefoot. When we walk barefoot, we feel the ground beneath us. Sand under our palms and feet. Cool water running between our toes. It’s a simple way to reconnect with the earth and feel more present in the places we explore.
It’s simple, but it changes the way we experience a place. You’re no longer just looking at nature. You’re connected to it.

We are a group of women who believe that adventure can be wild, meaningful, and comfortable at the same time. And that exploring a place also means caring for it. Today, we run Baja Barefoot and create custom journeys across Baja California Sur: Ocean Safari Camps, Kayaking Expeditions, Treks and Culture, and quick escapes into the Sierra de la Laguna and Magdalena Bay.
Every trip is led by a local guide, and every itinerary leaves room for the unplanned, because that’s usually where the best memories come from. Sharing the adventure with the local community and captains who know Baja California Sur as home.
Because the more time we spend in the wild, the more we understand why it’s worth protecting.
Take off your shoes. Leave the ordinary behind. Get closer to the wild.
Welcome to Baja Barefoot.
